Silver Spring Networks

> Silver Spring Networks, a Redwood City, Calif., technology company that provides networks for utilities, has landed Warren Jenson (pictured) as its first chief financial officer. Mr. Jenson, 51, stepped down as CFO of game maker Electronic Arts in March; he previously served as CFO at Amazon.com and Delta Air Lines.

Constellation Energy

> Constellation Energy has named Jonathan Thayer (pictured) chief financial officer. He succeeds John Collins, who will take an advisory position and work with the company on its pending acquisition by MidAmerican Energy Holdings. Mr. Thayer, 37, was named treasurer of Baltimore-based Constellation in August. He joined the company in 2002 as director of investor relations after working as an investment banker at Deutsche Bank Securities and SBC Warburg Dillon Read.

Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group

> H. Clifford Buster (pictured) has been named chief financial officer of Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group, a Tulsa, Okla., company whose brands include Dollar Rent a Car and Thrifty Car Rental. He succeeds Scott Thompson, who was promoted to president and CEO. Mr. Buster, 40, most recently was treasurer and vice president of finance at Helix Energy Solutions. Before joining Helix in 2006, he worked in finance at Group 1 Automotive.

Aleris International

> Aleris International, a Beachwood, Ohio, producer of aluminum products, has appointed Kevin Brown chief financial officer and executive vice president. He replaces Sean Stack, who was named executive vice president of corporate development and strategy. Mr. Brown, 48, most recently was CFO of Harman International. He has also served as CFO of Donnelly Corp. and worked in finance positions at Ford Motor.

PHH Corp.

> Sandra Bell (pictured) has been appointed chief financial officer and executive vice president of PHH Corp., which provides mortgage loans and fleet management. The Mt. Laurel, N.J.-based company had announced in May that it was searching for a successor for CFO Clair Raubenstine. Ms. Bell, 51, most recently was managing partner at Taurus Advisors, a financial advisory firm. She served as CFO of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati from 2004 to 2006 and earlier spent 13 years at Deutsche Bank Securities.

Health Net

> Health Net, a Los Angeles-based managed health care company, has named Jonathan Rollins (pictured) treasurer and vice president. He succeeds Wisdom Lu, who left the company earlier this year to become CFO of Liberman Broadcasting. Mr. Rollins, 44, is joining Health Net from Calyon, where he worked in investment banking. Earlier, he was at Bank of New York and served as an analyst for the U.S. Navy.

Kansas City Southern

> Michael Upchurch (pictured) has been appointed chief financial officer and executive vice president of railroad company Kansas City Southern. He succeeds Patrick Ottensmeyer, who was named executive vice president of sales, marketing and finance. Mr. Upchurch, 47, joined the company in March as senior vice president of financial management and purchasing. He had been with Sprint Nextel for 16 years. His final position at Sprint was senior vice president of financial operations.

PricewaterhouseCoopers

> PricewaterhouseCoopers has named R. Carter Pate managing partner for its U.S. advisory practice and appointed Juan Pujadas global leader of the advisory practice. Mr. Pate, 54, will continue to serve as head of the global and U.S. health industries group, a position to which he was appointed in 2007. He has been managing partner of PWC's federal government practice since 2004. Mr. Pujadas, 46, has been leader of the U.S. advisory practice since 2004 and earlier led PWC's global risk management solutions practice for the Americas. He has also served as chief risk officer of Santander Investment.

Meredith Corp.

> Joseph Ceryanec (pictured) has been named chief financial officer and vice president of Meredith Corp. His predecessor, Suku Radia, left earlier this year to become president of a local bank. Mr. Ceryanec, 47, has spent most of his career at McLeod-USA, where he held a number of financial titles, including CFO. When Paetec acquired McLeod earlier this year, Mr. Ceryanec was named president of the 13-state central region.

HealthMarkets

> HealthMarkets, a health insurance provider in North Richland Hills, Texas, has appointed Steven Erwin chief financial officer and executive vice president. He succeeds Michael Boxer, who has left the company. Mr. Erwin, 65, most recently was CFO of 21st Century Insurance Group.

3Com

> Gene Skayne has been named corporate treasurer and vice president of finance at 3Com, a Marlborough, Mass.-based provider of networking solutions. Mr. Skayne, 51, joins 3Com from Gerber Scientific, where he served as corporate treasurer, director of investor relations and vice president of financial operations. Prior to that, he was director of financial planning for Helix Technology and worked in finance and operations at Digital Equipment Corp.

Media General

> Media General, the Richmond, Va.-based newspaper chain, has named John Butler treasurer. He succeeds John Schauss, the company's treasurer since 2001 and its CFO since 2005, who is now stepping down as treasurer. Mr. Butler has served as assistant treasurer since 2005. He joined Media General in 2003 as director of treasury management from Sitel Corp., where he served as treasurer.

Schwak

> Schawk, an Illinois company that offers brand management services, has named Timothy Cunningham chief financial officer. He succeeds James Patterson, who left in June to pursue other interests. Mr. Cunningham, 55, most recently was a partner at Tatum and earlier served as CFO of Pregis Corp.

SunPower Corp.

> Dennis Arriola has been named chief financial officer and senior vice president of SunPower Corp., a San Jose, Calif., manufacturer of solar cells and panels. He replaces Manny Hernandez, who is retiring in January. Mr. Arriola, 47, spent 14 years at Sempra Energy, where he most recently served as CFO and senior vice president for two utility subsidiaries, San Diego Gas & Electric and Southern California Gas.

International Rectifier

> International Rectifier, an El Segundo, Calif., provider of power management technology, has appointed Ilan Daskal chief financial officer. He succeeds Michael P. McGee, who was fired by the company's board in July 2007 amid an investigation of accounting irregularities. Mr. Daskal, 43, most recently was vice president of finance and business administration for a unit of Infineon Technologies. Before that, he worked in finance and strategy positions at Savan Communications and other Israeli technology companies.
